In January, we extended our easyTOUCH product range by two new products: The easyTOUCH display eTD156W3202-INA-A featuring a 2mm tempered cover glass, a bonded SITO PCAP easyTOUCH and a Microchip USB controller board for easy connection to a HOST system. New is the Innolux Full-HD panel G156HCE-L01 with LVDS interface and 450nits brightness, which is airbonded to the touch component.
We also have a new product in our sensor section: In addition to the glas-based SITO sensor, we now also offer the foil sensor eTS101W1C7-S in the standard 10.1" size. The sensor is equipped with the ILI2511 and can be bonded to any custom/standard glass.
Touch sensors, Tails & Touch controller
As a professional supplier of digital display systems, we can equip display systems with numerous additional features on request, such as touch extensions, audio components, cameras and various sensors. With the help of proximity sensors, a comparatively energy-saving operation of the entire system can be realised. Since the display is only activated when the integrated sensors register proximity by means of infrared or laser technology, significantly less energy is required than with convention-al display systems. Depending on the customer's requirements and the desired location, either short-range sensors (for short distances of less than 1m) or long-range sensors (for distances of up to 7m) can be used. The use of proximity sensors is advantageous both from an ecological point of view and with regard to energy efficiency assessment. In addition, they are also convincing from an economic point of view, since thanks to the overall low energy consumption, costs are saved and the service life of the system is increased.
Especially in the area of smart retail or for information and signage applications, proximity sensors, as well as our other expansion options, offer real added value.

In modern industrial touch applications, Projective Capacitive (PCAP) largely dominates as a touch extension to displays, while resistive touch panels (RTP) are used less frequently in new projects. Nevertheless, RTPs have become indispensable in many application areas.
An analog resistive touch reacts to pressure, which connects two electrically conductive layers point by point. Thus, the point of contact can be precisely localized by e.g. the human finger or input pen. RTPs are effortlessly connected mechanically by means of double-sided industrial adhesive tape through which sensors are taped to a display (air bonding). On the customer side, the RTP scores with easy integration, both into the customer's housing and the electrical connection to the HOST system.
For more than 20 years, we have been using the resistive touch panels of our partners DMC and Higgstec, which are not only long-term available, but are also particularly suitable for use in EMC-heavy or environments with high dirt density. In addition, resistive touch panels can be easily operated at any time, even with thick gloves.

As LG INNOTEK (LGIT) announced earlier this year, the company is exiting the touch panel market. Since 2016 LGIT was our strategic partner for metal mesh touch products. In addition to our own PCAP products up to 32", distribution standard products with Sharp USB controller up to 55" and more were sold. With the surprising discontinuation, we were asked to quickly provide suitable replacement products.
In cooperation with our controller partner ILITEK we developed a new USB controller board (ILI2316), which was relaunched with three touch sensors in the highrunner sizes 42", 50"(49") and 55". This board is the basis for a fast, suitable alternative to LGIT products. Other niche diagonals are covered with metal mesh touch supplier MN-Tech.
