From the selection of suitable peripherals to supplier management and final system integration
This year's winners of the regional "Kreative Köpfe" competition were announced on May 7. Pupils are honoured for their innovative inventiveness. Among the winners is 15-year-old Robin Schnabl, a pupil at Weikersheim Grammar School, who was supervised in this competition by our engineers in Weikersheim and ultimately achieved third place overall.
"Kreative Köpfe" was launched back in 2002. The competition offers young people between the ages of 13 and 19 the opportunity to put their inventive ideas in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (STEM) into practice. They are supported by experts from regional companies. The participants can take advantage of the expertise and infrastructure of the participating companies, realise their project ideas and gain their first valuable insights into the world of work.
Robin's idea arose from an everyday problem: the different widths of bicycle tires often do not fit into the standardised brackets of public bicycle racks. His solution is an adjustable bicycle stand that flexibly adapts to the width of each tire. In addition, the stand has a 2-meter wire rope that allows the bicycle to be locked up theft-proof.
"The idea arose from my observation that many people with different bicycles had difficulties parking their bikes safely in the usual parking facilities. I wanted to find a solution that works for everyone and is easy to use at the same time," explains Robin Schnabl.
Robin's solution is customisable and also equipped with several safety features to prevent damage to the bikes.
