Focus on force touch technology

We rely on force touch technology as the ultimate operating method for special application areas. This technology goes beyond the conventional touch of the screen and also detects the strength of the pressure, which enables new interactions and promotes the creation of intuitive user interfaces.

Ideal for touch interaction in the third dimension

While force touch is already established in many consumer products such as smartphones, tablets and wearables, DATA MODUL sees great potential for numerous industrial applications. Especially in safety-relevant areas such as train and machine control systems as well as in the food, automotive and medical sectors, force touch offers a promising alternative to mechanical buttons. The additional haptic interaction increases safety enormously. We are seeing increased interest in the technology in the food, healthcare and automotive sectors.

Force touch is based on projected capacitive (PCAP) technology and extends this to include the detection of pressure force in the Z-axis. This enables a three-dimensional evaluation that virtually eliminates unintentional inputs. The detection of the pressure force ensures more differentiated operation and greater functional reliability.
